Ep. #036: How I Live In The Frequency of Gratitude

In this episode of The Mom Movement Podcast, Jessica Doman is sharing her tips and tricks on how she lives in the frequency of gratitude. Gratitude is a buzz word in the self-help/ spirituality industry and it is not most people’s natural state, however, it only takes a simple mindset shift to anchor into the frequency of gratitude. Tune in to learn:
  • Gratitude is not my natural state
  • Why it’s important to set aside time each day to be grateful
  • Shift from waiting for your desire to happen (desperation) to being so in love with your life now (abundance)
  • Journaling is a great gratitude practice

TRUTH: Gratitude is not my natural state

Yep, you heard that right. I have to consciously set aside time each day to practice gratitude. Look, I know I have an incredible life. I am so fortunate in so many ways but I still have to set aside time each day to anchor into gratitude and maybe you do too. There is nothing wrong with you and it is totally okay.

It can be easy to find things to be grateful on good days, but what about the day that you find a six inch bolt lodged into your tire? Cue the temper tantrum.

Through my own life of trial and error I have found some helpful tips to help you anchor into the frequency of gratitude. Here they are:

Be thankful before it happens

This is a big one for me. And you'll hear this a lot in the world of manifestation. Be thankful before it happens. This. Is. Embodiment. Be the person who you're going to be when that manifestation actually shows up in your reality. What does she wear? How does she carry herself? What does her daily routine look like? Practice being in gratitude for the thing that you have right now and the thing that you're calling in next.

One of my favorite affirmations is, “I am so grateful for what I have, and I'm ready for more.” If you can be in the feeling of that, you’re in the sweet spot.

Release the desperation

I want you to be so freaking obsessed with who you are right now, where you are right now, while also being grateful for what's coming. So when what's coming comes, you're like, oh my gosh. Yay!! It's here, it's here! Move away from desperation, lack and neediness. I know how it feels to wonder, where is it? Where is it? Where is it? But I have to be honest and tell you that the energy of desperation literally repels your desire. This is the work. Trust.

Journaling

The next thing you can do to be in the frequency of gratitude is to journal. Keep a gratitude journal or add it to your current journal. For me, this practice  is less about proving things but more about reminding myself to express gratitude. Journaling turns it into a habit which in turn helps me to create a habit of expressing gratitude.

Here are a few prompts that you can use:

  • What is something you love about yourself?
  • What is something you love about your home?
  • What is something you love about your life?
  • What are three things you can be grateful for today?
  • What are three things that you're grateful for from yesterday?
This is the work, you guys!! Getting into the habit of trusting that the Universe is always conspiring in your favor and you are going to be ok. This gets to be fun. Get excited, play, and I can almost guarantee that you will be surprised at what manifestations come your way.
